Welcome to the 2022 WoRC Expo!

     The World of Retro Computing WoRC Expo is a one day retro computing conference in Kitchener Ontario Canada. The 2022 WoRC expo will include hands on retro computer and gaming displays, food trucks, special guest speakers, vendors buying and selling, workshops, raffles, animals and an after event Barn Dance/Social!

     We are pleased to announce that we will be holding the WoRC 2022 Expo at the Steckle Heritage Farm located at 811 Bleams Road Kitchener Ontario N2E 3X4. Free parking is available at 205 McIntyre Drive which is on the west side of the Farm. Full access to the Farm property will be included, yes, there will be animals present! Please leave your own animals at home.



Schedule of Events for Sunday August 28 2022 12pm-8pm EST: 

12:00pm - Doors open! All ages Free admission ! 12:00pm-5:00pm - All day buy, sell, play and compute !

12:15pm - Welcome note from the WoRC Founder. 12:30pm-4:30pm - Raffle tickets on sale, items will be on display.

1:00pm - Join us at the main stage for Guest speaker Ranko Rodic's exciting presentation including an exclusive Minimig.ca product launch !

2:00pm - Richard Bettridge of theoldnet.com will be on the main stage introducing a new product and answering any questions on his latest projects !

2:30pm - Kevin Stumpf will be presenting his critically acclaimed Waterloo Region GrassRoots History of Technology on the main stage, and displaying an exhibit described as follows... "An IBM Selectric I/O Model 1980 with service manuals. This very heavy typewriter-like remote computer terminal was used at the Oshawa office of Household Finance Corp. from 1968. It was part of a North American-wide deployment to hundreds of HFC branches. These terminals were connected by telephone lines to one of 3 IBM System/360 Model 50 computers located large metropolitan areas in the USA. They were used to enter details about a loan and then print the loan papers. Also monthly it would be used to print financial reports for the branch. Lots and lots of paper was used. These were the common solution to remotely access computers even though "video" terminals existed."

3:30pm - Frank Linhares of RetroRewind.ca will be on the main stage with Jacek Piszczek chatting about new products and old tech.

12pm-5pm - DECromancer from decromancer.ca will be displaying "Graphical workstations and terminals from the 1980's".

12pm-5pm - Michael Hanley , one of our major vendors will be selling a wide variety of vintage computers, supplies, software and more. Some items will be held exclusively for sale during the Barn Dance/Social between 6pm-8pm.

12pm-5pm - Drop by the Artshine/Arts4all table to meet the team and learn about their fantastic programs !

4:45pm - Raffle draws, no need to be present, we will notify the winners.

5:00pm - End of general admission Expo.

6:00pm-8:00pm - Retro Barn Dance/Social with music and video ! Tickets to be sold in advance and during the Expo. There will be exclusive deals from the vendors and special door/raffle prizes during this time.

8:00pm - Thank you and recognition notes from the WoRC founder.

8:30pm - End of line...
